Heart's Inferno (Fallen Guardians 4) Page 21
Desperately wanting him, Kira widened her legs. He settled between them to run his fingers over her bare mound. “I thought I’d finally get to know your true hair color…”
Furious warmth scorched her cheeks. He laughed softly. “Now that’s a sight I’ll always treasure. But this…” He dragged a finger along her smooth skin and through her slit, parting her flesh. “I don’t really care, with or without, it’s a decadent pleasure, eating you.”
His tongue glided along her folds, licking every inch of her, but not touching her throbbing clit. She bit back her whimper, her legs sliding over his shoulders needing that touch. He suddenly dragged his unshaven jaw over her clit, and she cried out in surprise at friction, at the incredible sensations sweeping through her.
Smiling, he eased one callused finger into her core, followed by another, stroking her insides as he continued with another drag of his chin.
Ohhh. She grabbed fistfuls of covers, her entire being focused only on the feel of his whiskered jaw tormenting her flesh, and then followed once more by his teasing fingers and tongue not quite touching her aching nub.
“God, Týr…” She moaned, not sure she could survive his sensual torture. “Please…”
“Please what? Suck you, bite you…fuck you?”
“Stop tormenting me!” she growled, but it came out more as a plea.
Male that he was, he chuckled, the sound reverberating against her core, amping her arousal. Then he sucked her swollen clit into his mouth. A firm nip of her throbbing flesh, and the coiled tension inside her core shattered. Her orgasm burst free, pleasure sweeping her…
When she finally came back to herself, her heart still thundering in her ears, she found him watching her. He kissed her inner thigh.
Her chest tightened. Christ, this man.
Despite her boneless state, Kira slid her legs from his shoulders and pushed him down onto the bed. But he sat up, taking her mouth in a deeply possessive kiss. She tasted herself as he sucked on her tongue, making her heart thud. His big palms roamed her body and settled on her hips. Before he had her flat on her back again, she quickly moved off the bed to kneel on the floor.
“No—” Týr pulled her to him.
“But—”
“Later. It’s been too damn long…” Desperation etched his features. “I need you now.”
Wanting him just as badly, Kira straddled his muscular thighs. Týr’s one hand settled on her hips, he grasped his rigid cock and stroked her along her cleft, lightly brushing her clit. She shuddered, her body tensing.
His pale-toffee eyes burning like a flame, held hers. “Put me inside you, elska.”
At his guttural demand, she shifted to her knees, wrapped her fingers around his thick sex, and lowered on the head of his cock. Those striking eyes burned brighter as she grabbed his shoulders and slowly pushed down.
A low growl emitted from him, as if pushed beyond his control, he grasped her hips and thrust up, breaching her tight opening. Her breath caught, the head of him stretching her impossibly wide. His jaw clenched, he pushed a little farther. Then, he was sliding in. God, he was seated so deeply inside her, stretching her, his cock pleasuring every nerve ending, that she couldn’t breathe—couldn’t think.
A deeply sensual groan left him. “You feel so damn good, elska.” He lowered his brow to hers, his voice like gravel. “I’ve waited a lifetime for you…for this.”
“Me, too,” she whispered huskily, stroking his broad back. “For me, too.”
Týr struggled for control as Kira sat astride him. He glanced down between their bodies, to where his cock impaled her. It seemed too surreal, claiming his mate in the realm he loathed the most. But he didn’t care, hardly able to believe that he had her safe in his arms. Or that he’d finally gotten the stink of the demon off her.
His breath stuttered at the inescapable truth. Kira was, and would always be, his.
The chaos she created, he wanted.
It excited and enticed him. She set everything in his hollow heart alight. And he let her. This had to be the most real thing he’d ever experienced in his long life.
Her heat licked inside him and across his skin. She shifted, and his rigid sex pressed deeper into her snug sheath, pulsed with the need to move, protesting his stillness. Teeth gritted, he held on. The urge to thrust and claim her as his mate sent blood thundering to his already painful cock.
He trailed kisses along her jaw, unable to stop touching her. “You okay?”
A smile. It brought out those perfect little dimples that always rendered him mute. “Even better if you move.”
A chuckle escaped him. Tightening his hold on her, he pushed to his feet, and her legs wrapped around his hips. His cock slid deeper into her snug body, nearly garroting him with need as he crossed to the wall. She moaned, kissing him deeply.
Týr pressed her up against the shut window, pulled out and thrust into her. She broke their kiss, panting hard, eyes glazed. His gaze lowered to where they were joined, watching as he pumped his hips, his thick cock spearing her body again and again.
Everything about her was sexy, deliciously decadent. But he wanted more, so much more. He wanted to claim her in the Norse gods’ primordial way—bonding her with his scent—so she’d never forget she belonged to him.
Desperation crawling through him, he pulled out and thrust into her harder, faster. Her nails bit into his shoulders as she moved with him—fuck, he loved her fierceness, relished the tiny stings.
His jaw clenched, his neck muscles strained. He was so fucking close, but he needed her to fall with him. He sucked on her tongue, deepening the kiss.
Her legs tightened around him as he angled his hips, letting his cock drag against her clit with each thrust. Her inner muscles clamped around him. She kissed him harder, moving with him in a frenzy. Her body spasmed, and she yanked her mouth free and cried out.
Her release triggered his. He drove harder, faster—fuuuck! He grunted, her body clamping around him like a vise. His orgasm rolled down his spine to his balls, shattering him. Unbelievable ecstasy scored his entire being. But all he felt was her. Her innate light seeped through him, calming…soothing him.
A peace he’d sought for eons with others, but which had always eluded him, she held it within her tempting body. Breathing hard, Týr rested his brow on her shoulder. Her lips brushed his cheek in a soft kiss. His heartbeat stuttered.
“That was amazing,” she murmured, stroking his back. “And you smell incredible. I’m mean you always do, but it’s more…like I’m in an orange grove with pines and something musky…”
He couldn’t speak to explain, engulfed with emotions.
She made sex—something he loathed, an act always filled with pain and degradation—beautiful once more. With her, he’d found himself again.
Possessiveness burrowed deep, every primeval instinct flaring brighter than ever before. Mine, the word echoed in his soul.
She was the mate of his heart.
As far as he was concerned, his fucking dagger was faulty.
Chapter 18
Kira blinked sleep blurred eyes as she awakened to a room doused in pale…purple light, her body pleasantly aching in places that had her mind rushing back to last night. Her gaze settled on Týr standing near the window, the flares of the volcano outside lighting his somber features.
As if sensing she was awake, he turned, giving her a stunning view of his naked, muscled body. He crossed to the bed, lifted the cover, and slipped in beside her. “I thought I’d tired you out and you’d sleep the hours away,” he teased.
She wrinkled her nose and sighed in contentment as his warm, callused palm slid down her back to settle on her bottom. “Gran—!” She shot up. “She’ll be freakin’ out if she called and-and—”
“It’s all good,” he said, stopping her frantic speech. “She knows you’re with me, at a safe place ‘cause of the danger after us. I sent her a text soon after you disappeared, didn’t want her to worry.”
> “Thank you,” she whispered, relieved. “My phone doesn’t work here and I couldn’t call you or her…” She settled back on his chest again. “Týr, do the Guardians know that you’re here in the Dark Realm?” she asked, tracing the mystical sword inked on his thick biceps and trying to ignore the fingers stroking her one butt cheek.
“You are my mate. Only a fool would believe I wouldn’t come after you.”
A smile bowed her mouth at his curt response. “I know it’s only been a day or so since I got here…”
“Try a week.”
“On Earth? So long?” she gulped, staring at him in shock.
“Yeah, time moves slower in this place.
Okay, she didn’t know that. Worry took hold. “Will Michael be mad at you or kick you out of your job for being away so long?”
“Mad?” Wry laughter. “Countless times. He probably wishes he could throw me out, but no. My allegiance is to Gaia.” He stared at the ceiling, and the distracting hand caressing her slowed. “The job is satisfying—”
“What? Killing demons?”
He pinched her butt, and she jerked, glaring at him. He smiled. “Yes, to slaying all those evil fuckers and demoniis.” In a move too fast to grasp, he had her under him again. “Now that I have you, all’s good. What more could I ask for?”
Those shadows in your eyes, and the pain I feel inside you gone. That’s what. But she didn’t say it aloud. Last night while they’d made love, as amazing as it had been, there had been a shade of wariness in him, one that she didn’t understand and wanted so badly to ask him about.
A brighter gray light, probably what constituted morning in this world, seeped into the bedroom as Týr lowered his head and put his mouth on hers. Her arms slipped around him, and she kissed him back—morning! Oh, crap. She hastily pulled away. “Týr, wait-wait, let me up.”
“Why?”
“Because I have to get dressed.” She scrambled out from under him and off the bed—aware she’d only gotten free because he’d let her go—and dashed to the walk-in closet. She grabbed underwear and a deep-blue dress from the clothes there.
“What’s gotten you so worked up?” he demanded as she changed. “I don’t sense anyone approaching.”
She glanced at him, trying to button the back of her fitted dress. Like a huge, golden cat uncoiling, Týr sat up, shoving a pillow behind him, a brow arched at her. The sheet slid to his waist, revealing miles of golden skin and abs. God, the man was wicked temptation. It took every bit of willpower she possessed not to pounce on him, which would be entirely his fault. But that would just encourage him to remain where he was.
“You haven’t answered me, Kira. Why?”
“Because my family will be coming soon to escort me to breakfast.” She crossed to him. “And you really, really don’t want my father or brother seeing us like this—”
She froze, the blood draining from her head. They were demons. And Týr killed demons.
“You forget, I’ll know if anyone comes,” he drawled. “And I did shield my abilities and presence…”
Okay, good. But nerves tied her stomach into troubling little knots. “Týr…” She stopped near the bed, hating that she had to do this. “I need you to leave.”
“No.”
An absolute and equivocal response, and one that didn’t surprise her. “Only for a short while, please. If they see you, it won’t end well. I don’t want anything to happen to you. You kill their kind for godsakes! At least let me speak to them first.”
Now that she’d met her family, she didn’t want anything to happen, even if she still thought her father an emotionless ice block.
Týr swung his feet to the floor, the sheet still sadly draped over his lap. “I’m not leaving, Kira. If I do, you’re coming with me.”
“God.” She groaned and rubbed her temples. “You’re like a darn mountain.”
“Strong and majestic?”
“Unmovable. Inflexible. And so darn stubborn—gah!” She flopped down onto the mattress next to him, exhaling deeply and giving him her back. “Button me up so I can at least be decent to defend you.”
“Stop panicking.” His warm hands coasted across her skin as if to soothe her. “I know they’re demons, and together, probably quite powerful. But I’m not exactly defenseless if shit does fly.” He started fastening her dress. “What precisely is your sire’s position in this place?”
“He’s a high lord, I think. When Nicor mentioned Wrath’s name, those demons who thought to claim me fled in fear.”
His fingers on her back stilled. “Wrath?”
“Yes. Týr, hurry, please. I don’t want either of them meeting you while you’re gloriously naked.”
“Your wish, my command,” he said drily and continued working the buttons. “You have a brother?”
“Yes.” Kira sighed deeply in exasperation. “I’ve already said so. Riley.”
Silence followed. “There. Done.”
“Thanks.” She hurried back to the closet and found strappy sandals.
At Týr’s heavy exhale, she wheeled around. “What?”
“You’re not gonna like this.” He scrubbed a hand over his unshaven jaw, his expression rueful. Her heart dipped. Had something happened with them? Riley had warned her about Týr earlier… And between Týr and Riley, her brother appeared calmer. Quieter…
Sandals in hand, she narrowed her eyes at her man. “What did you do?”
A shrug. “I tried to kill him.”
Oh. God. “Why?”
“Bad place, bad time, and all that crap.”
“Don’t give me that BS,” she groaned. “I know you—”
“What do you want me to say, Kira?” he rasped. “That I’m so fucked in the head, every time I see a demon, I want them eviscerated? That I’ve been in a hellish damn place for so fuckin’ long that I longed for death?”
He wanted to die? Gone was her tough, arrogant immortal. In his place was a man filled with immense pain and anger.
“Then I met you, and it wasn’t so bad anymore. And I could function again.”
Dropping her shoes, she ran to him and kneeled between his parted thighs. His throat moved as if he found it hard to swallow. Kira simply put her arms around him and held him tight, so he’d know she’d always be there for him, no matter what.
Several long seconds later, she felt him brush a kiss on her head. He cupped her face in his big palms. “Nothing would keep me from you, elska. Not this place, not who your family is, nothing. I’m yours for as long as you’ll have me, but I’m hoping for as long as we both live—”
She reached up and peppered his face with kisses, feeling the smile on his lips as he slid his tongue into her mouth. Then, he suddenly pulled back and cursed. “Kira, we have—”
“Daughter?”
She went dead-still at the cool and now familiar tone. Oh, shit! Guess a locked door wouldn’t keep her father out. She scrambled to her feet, her heart careening in her ribcage like a trapped bird. “I’ll go speak to him,” she said on a rushed breath, only one thought churning in her mind; the death fight. No way would she let her father insist that Týr battle some demon for her, which would likely be Nicor.
“Kira, wait—”
She shook her head and wheeled away, sprinting out the door in her bare feet and skidding to a halt in the living room. Oh, no! Her heart took a dive. Not only was her father, Riley, and Nicor there, but several guards in black and gray uniforms stood behind them, more spilling out into the corridor.
Did they think she harbored a dangerous criminal?
“You look rested, Kira,” Wrath greeted her.
Was there sarcasm there? Warily, she rubbed her damp palms down her dress. He wouldn’t say something loaded with innuendoes, would he?
Obviously, they already knew that Týr was here, and the reason why they’d descended on her like a pack of hyenas. In the gloomy room, the guards’ eyes gleamed red like evil predators after a soul.
Kira straightene
d her spine, taking strength from her man’s oath. If they thought to harm him, they’d have to go through her first.
“I’m fine.” She looked her father straight in the eyes. “In fact, my mate’s here. He came for me.”
There. Put that in your pipe or wherever and smoke it.
“And that would be me.”
Kira glanced back, a smile trembling on her mouth.
Týr leaned against the doorjamb wearing his leathers, boots, and his Henley from which he’d torn off the burnt sleeves, revealing heavily muscled biceps and the mystical sword inked there.
She uttered a fervent prayer to the universe. Please, please don’t let anything happen.
Chapter 19
Týr nailed the intruders a cool stare. Hell, he’d probably broken his own record in hauling on his clothes, but he didn’t want Kira out there alone with the savages.
He folded his arms over his chest. Despite his casual stance, his entire body was primed for action. The male in front, the one with the lean, cruel aristocratic features, clad in a black shirt, leather-like pants, and knee-high boots, reeked of all kinds of authority and appeared to be about a decade or so older than Týr.
Nope, Kira looked nothing at all like him. She was gorgeous—
He stilled as an imperceptible touch of unimaginable primeval power slithered over him as if seeking, testing his strength. What the hell! Týr didn’t bother to hide his own abilities any longer. He went motionless, the dots suddenly connecting and coalescing into a kick to the gut, revealing exactly what Kira’s sire was.
Fuuuuck! He’d had his suspicions when he heard the name and had hoped it was just coincidence. Demons always went for angry names that they thought made them sound cool.
Those unnerving, neon-green eyes held Týr’s. Nope, not a demon. But far, far worse.
He was the real deal. The deadliest of the Seven Sins.
Most would be quaking in their boots by now. Tyr narrowed his eyes, denying any fear. Hell, he’d encountered and survived the worst damnation in Tartarus. Nothing could ever compare to that. But just let the ancient bastard try to take Kira from him.
